How to learn to make paper frogs or toads using origami techniques

How to make a paper frog

A origami lesson sent by David Prat.

The construction of a paper frog adds some degree of difficulty to the lessons of origami showed until the moment. Ideal for those who are looking for more complexity in their creations.
Due to their size, it is convenient to use big sheets of paper to make this work better, specially to attain easier folds.

It is advisable for the origami beginner to begin with the other four previous tutorials on this site to make some practice before going on with the frog.

Firstly make the square base.

To know how to make a paper square base , see the lesson:
Simple constructions of paper: square base

Fold a wing towards the middle of the base and open its sides.
Press the surface for compact it.

Fold along the dotted line.

Now raise the central part (point A in the previous picture) hidden by the corners. Put the fold on the flat surface.

Next, press on the borders to stand out the figure.

This process has to be be made with the maximum precision to get an acceptable finish later on.

Repeat the 5 previous steps (included the current one) for each one of the four wings.

If the process has been carried out correctly, a figure will be obtained similar to that one in the picture.
